
Grants are distributed based on a qualifying event and documented financial need.
To be eligible for a grant, an applicant must:
- Be a team member (employee or contractor) of a Sevita entity.* Team member status is as of date of qualifying event and application.
- Have experienced a qualifying event such as an unexpected injury or illness that has resulted in lost income or added expenses, the loss of an immediate family member, a victim of a natural disaster or a domestic violence survivor
- In need of assistance with basic living expenses, such as rent/mortgage or basic utilities, or basic funeral expenses
*if an employee has passed away, their family can apply for assistance.
What’s Covered
Network Angels focuses on the necessities required for daily living, for example:
- Temporary shelter, food and clothing after a fire or natural disaster
- Utility bills that have gone unpaid because of extraordinary medical expenses
- Back rent or mortgage payments after an accident or illness has left an employee or their spouse unable to work for an extended period of time
- Funeral expenses for an immediate family member
Examples of Events that Do Not Qualify
- Vehicle and transportation related issues or expenses
- A pregnancy and childbirth without complications or adverse health conditions for the mother or baby
- Eviction or utility shutoff without a qualifying loss of income or added expense
reduction in work hours if an hourly employee - Administrative leave for investigations
- Lawyers’ fee, child support, or court orders resulting in expense or lost income
- Wage garnishments
- Any expense for another household where the applicant is not a full time resident
Restrictions
Recipients are restricted to one grant per 18 months and three total in a lifetime.
